Silas is a dynamic and accomplished cellist with a rich history of performances and accolades. Currently serving as a substitute cellist with the Rapides, Acadiana, Gulf Coast Mississippi Symphony Orchestra. Silas has showcased versatility and skill across a variety of prestigious ensembles. Notably, they have held principal and associate principal roles with the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra, performing at world-renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall and participating in international tours across France and Italy.
A decorated musician, Silas was named a Long Island Arts Alliance Scholar Musician for 2023-2024 and earned the coveted University of Rochester Eastman School of Music Award in 2022-2023. Their excellence has also been recognized by the New York State School of Music Association (NYSSMA) All-State Symphony Orchestra and the New York State Council of Administrators of Music Education (NYSCAME) All-County. Additionally, they have been a consistent participant in the Long Island String Festival Association (LISFA) since 2016.
Silas has studied under renowned teachers & performers, including Dennis Parker (Louisiana State University), Brittany Dagro, and Allison Rowe, refining their artistry and technique. With a commitment to musical excellence and a passion for orchestral performance, Silas continues to inspire audiences with their expressive playing and dedication to their craft.
