Silas is a dynamic and accomplished cellist with a rich history of performances and accolades. Currently serving as a substitute cellist with the Baton Rouge, Rapides, Acadiana, and Gulf Coast Mississippi Symphony Orchestra. Silas has showcased versatility and skill across a variety of prestigious ensembles. Notably, they have held principal and associate principal roles with the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra, performing at world-renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall and participating in international tours across France and Italy.

A decorated musician, Silas was named a Long Island Arts Alliance Scholar Musician for 2023-2024 and earned the University of Rochester Eastman School of Music Award in 2022-2023. 

Silas has also had the opportunity to perform under the direction of acclaimed conductors including Keith Lockhart, Leonard Slatkin, Mei-Ann Chen, and JoAnn Falletta. As an orchestral musician, he has also collaborated in performances featuring internationally recognized soloists such as Yuja Wang, Stella Chen, and Maria Ioudenitch.

Silas has studied under renowned teachers & performers, including Dennis Parker (Louisiana State University), Brittany Dagro, and Dr. Allison Rowe, refining his artistry and technique. With a commitment to musical excellence and a passion for orchestral performance, Silas continues to inspire audiences with their expressive playing and dedication to their craft.
